Counselling & Parenting Support

Does this sound familiar?

You often find yourself...

Feeling overwhelmed sometimes in motherhood?

Finding it hard to juggle meeting your own needs while also caring for others?

Worrying about how your feelings and behaviours affect your child?

Feeling angry, resentful or burnt out?

Struggling with mum guilt and not feeling good enough?

Wishing you could have someone hold space for you and focus on your needs for once?

Motherhood is transformative, and while it is filled with so much joy and love, there are often many challenges to navigate along the journey.

Support is key for mothers to thrive, and yet so many of us don't have somewhere that we can openly talk about our experiences in motherhood.
BOOK A SESSION

What I can offer you in counselling

In our sessions, I want to provide you with an opportunity for reflection and to focus on your own needs, feelings and experiences. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, have had some challenges in your life recently, are looking for some tools to help you feel more on top of things or simply want a safe space to talk about all the things that feel hard - I'm here for you.

Together, we can focus on nurturing your emotional health, and I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches when working with you, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

When supporting you with your parenting, I focus on helping you to develop deeper connections with your little one and respond to them with confidence. Whether it's big feelings, tricky behaviors or the challenges you face with parenting in a way that might look really different to the way you were parented - we can work together towards your goals.

My counselling services are offered online, meaning that no matter where you are in Australia you can connect with me from the comfort of your own home.

If the appointment times available don't suit you, I invite you to reach out to discuss an alternative time that might work for you.

Medicare Rebates

Providing you with accessible and affordable support is important to me, which is why Medicare rebates are available for birth debriefing and counselling sessions with a referral from your GP.

With this referral, you are entitled to 3 sessions that will attract a Medicare rebate of approximately $70 per session for eligible ladies.

You will need to pay the full fee for your session at the time of booking. Following your session with me, I will forward the relevant details to Medicare and they will process your rebate.

Eligibility criteria is as per the Medicare guidelines for MBS Item No. 93026 'Non-directive pregnancy counselling'.

To be eligible you must:

(a) be concerned about a current pregnancy or a pregnancy that occurred in the 12 months preceding the provision of the first service.

(b) be referred by a medical practitioner who is not a specialist or consultant physician.

Getting Your GP Referral

You must obtain your GP referral before your appointment.

You can click below to download a copy of a referral form and the full details/eligibility criteria for 'non-directive pregnancy counselling'. That way you can send the document straight to your GP or show them on your phone when you attend your appointment. Please note your GP can use their own template or referral form if they like, it just needs to include all of the details shown on my referral form.

I do not require your medical history as part of the referral.

Once you have your GP referral, please email me a copy at [email protected] as I need these details to process your Medicare claim.

For any questions about accessing Medicare rebates for my services feel free to reach out to me via email or DM on Instagram. I know this can be confusing when your head already feels full, and I'm so happy to answer questions, so let's get you sorted as easily as possible so you can get the support you need.
